Pakistan skipper Sarfaraz Ahmed is facing a lot of criticism after a humiliating loss to India in their World cup match. A lot was expected from the Pakistani team as the fans, which came in huge number to support Pakistan, wanted their team to repeat their Champions Trophy-winning performance in the ongoing tournament against India in 2017.

Much to the disappointment of fans, the most awaited World cup encounter turned out to be a one-sided affair  after Virat-led mighty India handed an 89-run (DLS) thrashing to Pakistan in Manchester.

Ahead of Pakistan’s World Cup fixture against India, former captain and now Prime Minister Imran Khan tweeted to suggest that Sarfraz Ahmed should opt to bat first if he wins the toss.

However, Sarfraz invited India to bat on the Manchester track which looked to be batting friendly.

Frustrated after Pakistan's loss, some fans at Old Trafford had screamed insults at Pakistan captain Sarfaraz Ahmed as they can be heard, saying "Sarfaraz, you're fat." The incident took place shortly after the match was over.

Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul, who came to open in place of injured Shikhar Dhawan, showed no mercy. Both the batsman brought up their respective half-centuries, stitching a century stand for the opening wicket.

Many former cricketers, including Shoaib Akhtar, went on to slam Sarfaraz for such dismal captaincy.

"The mistakes committed by the Indian team during the Champions Trophy 2017 final were repeated by Pakistan yesterday. I can't understand how Sarfaraz can be so brainless. How could he forget that we don't chase very well," Shoaib Akhtar had lamented.
