After getting initially suspended by the BCCI due to coronavirus pandemic, Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 finally is officially on! The much-awaited cash-rich league is set to take place in September-November window, subject to clearances from the Indian government.

India's cricketing icon Sachin Tendulkar, the former captain of Mumbai Indians, is still considered as the flag-bearer of the franchise. It's been almost seven years since Master Blaster played in the popular T20 tournament.

Mumbai Indian, the most successful franchise in the IPL, is currently captained by star opener Rohit Sharma. During an interaction with his fans on social media, Rohit was asked by a fan to name 'one retired player' he would love to bring back to Mumbai Indians for IPL 2020.

The white-ball star batter was quick to respond by saying that he would love to see Sachin Tendulkar and Shaun Pollock return to play for Mumbai Indians.

'If I could bring one Mumbai player not one actually, there are two. One and only Sachin Tendulkar and Shaun Pollock," Rohit Sharma said on Sunday.

Responding to Rohit's comment, Sachin Tendulkar said: "Would be fun to open with you, @ImRo45," Tendulkar responded. Fans were excited to see a warm reply from the Master Blaster.

"Will go to the nets and workout if it's still possible," Shaun Pollock wrote.

Meanwhile, Sachin Tendulkar on Sunday took to Twitter to celebrate Friendship Day on Sunday. The legendary batsman shared a childhood picture of him playing with his friends.

"Friendships are like floodlights on a cricket field. They enjoy your success from the corner. But if they realise the sun's going down on you, they light themselves up to provide brightness around you. For me, everyday is #FriendshipDay," Sachin Tendulkar wrote.
