Rohit Sharma may not be part of at least one of the first two Tests against Australia. The same was first reported by news agency PTI which suggests that the Indian captain has already intimated the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) that he might have to miss either the first Test which begins in Perth from November 22 due to a "pressing personal matter".
While the Indian team management was quick to appoint Jasprit Bumrah as the designated vice-captain in Tests, dropping a major hint about who could lead in Rohit's absence in Australia. However, the news of Rohit asking for a break due to "personal reason" has once again reignited rumours of the Indian captain likely to become father for the second time.

Notably, social media gossip first started about Rohit and his wife Ritija Sajdeh welcoming their second child after a video which went viral on social media in which Ritika appeared to have a baby bump. ABP Live, however, never managed to independently verify the claims made on social media.
The rumours, however, have resurfaced with Rohit now asking for a break.
Rohit Sharma To Lead India In All Three Tests Against New Zealand
Ahead of the Australia Tests, Rohit will be available for all the Test matches at home against Australia. He has been named the captain of the team with the BCCI announcing a 15-member squad on Friday (October 11). In addition, the selectors have also picked four travelling reserved as well.
