Team India's seasoned opener, Rohit Sharma, arrived in India on Thursday, July 25. The senior batter was spotted with his family at the Mumbai Airport, returning to his hometown after enjoying several weeks of holidays in the United States.
Rohit, who now leads the national team in Tests and ODIs, will return to action when India takes on Sri Lanka in a three-match ODI series, starting from August 2nd onwards. All three ODIs of IND vs SL series will take place in Sri Lanka's Colombo.

A new era is set to begin under coach Gautam Gambhir. IND vs SL white-ball series (T20Is and ODIs) marks a new beginning under the leadership of a new captain and coach.
While Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have retired from T20Is, they will continue to be part of the Test and ODI squads. The upcoming IND vs. SL ODIs also mark the return of KL Rahul and Shreyas Iyer.
Before the ODI series, India and Sri Lanka will compete in a T20I series. The first match of the three-match T20 series will be played on July 27. Suryakumar Yadav will lead the Men in Blue in T20Is.
Rohit Sharma on verge of attaining a special milestone
If Rohit Sharma hits 6 fours during IND vs SL 1st ODI match, he will achieve a special milestone. He will become the 13th batsman in the world to hit 1000 fours in ODIs. Currently, the 37-year-old batter has 994 fours to his name in ODIs.
Regarding Rohit Sharma's ODI career, he has so far played a total of 262 ODI matches for Team India. In 254 innings, the senior batter has scored 10,709 runs at an average of 49.12.
Rohit has 31 centuries and 55 half-centuries to his name in ODIs. Along with hitting 994 fours, he has also hit 323 sixes.
