Rohit Sharma, India's Test and ODI captain, does not even feature in the list. Moreover, Rohit might not be in the list but an Indian cricket star who was once rumoured to be dating Urvashi Rautela has paid more taxes than the Indian skipper. The cricketer in question happens to be Rishabh Pant.

Rishabh Pant Grade B BCCI Contract Player vs Rohit Sharma A+

As per the Fortune India list, Pant has paid Rs 10 crore tax in the financial year 2023-24. It is important to note that Pant is kept in Grade B of the Board of Control For Cricket in India (BCCI) which means he receives an annual compensation of Rs 3 crore other than the match fees. In contrast, Rohit is A+ Graded player which means he gets Rs 7 crore annual compensation by the board.

In addition, Rohit has been a regular three-format player in 2023-24 while Pant couldn't even hold the bat properly after a near-fatal car crash in December 2022. He made his proper comback to competitive cricket only in 2024 and is likeky to be back in Test matches after more than 600 days when India host Bangladesh.
