According to a report by the Times of India, Simranjit Singh's father-in-law revealed that around 5-6 months ago, while Simi was in Dublin, he developed a mysterious fever that kept recurring.

Despite undergoing tests in Ireland, the doctors were unable to pinpoint the cause of the illness, and as a result, they did not begin treatment. This delay led to a deterioration in Simi's health, prompting the family to bring him to India in search of better medical care.

Upon arriving in India, Simranjit Singh began treatment in Mohali, but his condition showed no signs of improvement. At a private hospital in Mohali, doctors diagnosed him with tuberculosis (TB). His health continued to decline, and eventually, he was advised to seek treatment at Medanta Hospital in Gurugram for more specialized care.

Simranjit Singh, born in Mohali, Punjab, started his cricket journey by representing Punjab at the Under-14 and Under-17 levels. However, he did not get the opportunity to play for the state's Under-19 team.
