Rohit Sharma Retirement From T20Is: Seasoned opener Rohit Sharma, the only Indian captain besides legendary MS Dhoni to win the T20 World Cup trophy, announced his retirement from T20I cricket. He made this announcement just hours after former India skipper Virat Kohli declared his own retirement from T20Is.

India defeated South Africa by 7 runs in ICC Men's T20 World Cup final, ending an 11-year ICC World Cup trophy drought.

Following India's historic win, captain Rohit declared IND vs SA Final was his last match for the national team in T20 International cricket. As the senior opener made the announcement, he also praised Virat Kohli's decision to retire from the shortest format.

During an exclusive conversation with ANI, Rohit Sharma opened up on his retirement from T20 International cricket, he said, " Whenever I feel inside what is right, I try and do that, that has been my nature when I captained the team as well. What I feel inside is what I want to do. I don't think a lot about the past and future...I didn't think that I would retire from T20 but such a situation came and I thought it was the perfect situation for me. Nothing better than winning the cup and saying goodbye"

On India's historic win in the T20 World Cup 2024, Rohit Sharma reminisced about his cricketing journey, recalling how he started with the national team in 2007.

Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have retired from T20Is but they will continue to play for the national team in ODIs and Tests.
