India were crowned the ICC Men's T20 World Cup Champion on June 29 (Saturday) after their win over South Africa in a thrilling final in Barbados. There was a hardly a player of the Indian contingent that did not shed a tear. Once the emotions had settled down, there was an animated celebration from the players that went late into the night. Post the dramatic win though, there was a bit of an anti-climax as a hurricane delayed the champions side's homecoming.

When the Rohit Sharma-led side finally returned to India, it was a sight to behold. There was a fantastic welcome by fans and the airport authorities at New Delhi before a meet and greet session to celebrate the triumph with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The Men in Blue then took another chartered flight from Delhi to Mumbai where Team India's aircraft received a water cannon salute. The team then to Marine Drive from where they took an open-bus celebratory roadshow to the Wankhede Stadium.
