Rohit Sharma suffered a rare twin failure in the ongoing India vs Bangladesh 1st Test at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. While Rohit got out for 6 in the first innings, he could score 5 runs in the second innings. Despite being a late bloomer, especially in Test match cricket, this is the just the fourth instance in the Indian captain's career where he has stumbled for a single-digit score in both the innings of a Test match.

Rohit fell to Hasan Mahmud in the first innings, the Bangladesh pacer who ended up with a five-wicket haul in the first innings. In the second innings after India had taken a 227-run lead, Rohit's wicket was claimed by Taskin Ahmed. However, given the substantial first innings advantage that India have, they are not in a spot of bother despite their captain's low returns with the bat in the Chennai Test.
