Bumrah eventually returned with figures of 4/50 while Siraj and Akash Deep had two wickets apiece conceding 30 and 19 runs respectively. Jadeja too had a couple of wickets alongside his name, conceding 19 runs off his 8 overs.
Ravichandran Ashwin's Century Takes India To 376
Earlier, Bangladesh won the toss and elected to field first, only the ninth instance of an opposition team winning the toss and choosing to field i It looked like the Bangla Tigers would be able to repeat a result similar to the one they had pulled off in Pakistan, where they won the series 2-0.
The tourists had reduced India to 144/6 before local boy Ravichandran Ashwin's record ton helped them get to a respectable total. Ashwin scored 113 and along with Jadeja (86) put on a 199-run stand that helped the hosts get to a commanding position before their response with the ball.
Bumrah struck right in the very first over and from then on Bangladesh always seemd to play catch up, trying to respond under pressure against a high quality Indian bowling unit.
