London: Latest update on Rishabh Pant is that the wicket-keeper batsman had tested Covid-19 positive on 8 July and had been undergoing quarantine. All this while, Pant was staying away from the hotel where team India's players were staying. The good news is that Pant is now asymptomatic and is on his way to recovery.

"Wicket-keeper Rishabh Pant nears completion of his self-quarantine period while net bowler Dayanand Garani has tested positive for COVID-19. Pant is asymptomatic and currently undergoing self-isolation at the place where he reported positive," the BCCI said in a statement.

"Pant, who had not stayed in the team hotel during the break period, tested positive on 8th July. He is being closely monitored by the BCCI Medical Team and is on his way to recovery. He will be able to join the squad in Durham after returning two negative RT-PCR tests," the statement added.

The BCCI has asked all the players and support staff who came in close contact with the player to isolate themselves for the next three days. Other than the player who is positive for the virus, all the players are supposed to travel to Durham, as planned. The practice match begins from 20 and will be broadcasted Live on Durham's Youtube channel.
