With a solid run score of 73 of 33 balls comprising 5 'Fours' and 6 'Sixes', South African batsman AB de Villers helped Virat Kohli led Royal Challengers Bangalore post a 194/2 against Dinesh Karthik-hemmed Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the 28th match in the thirteenth edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) at the Sharjah Cricket Ground in Sharjah (UAE) on Monday, October 12. Early in the game, openers Aaron Finch and Devdutt Padikkal started off well with a boundary getting the scoreboard ticking for the Men in Red in the first over of the match itself. The duo stitched 50 plus but the partnership ended with Padikkal getting stump out.

Andre Russell broke the 67-run opening stand between Padikkal and Finch, luring Padikkal to go for a the coverdrive on the ball but actually forcing him to return to the pavilion after contributing 32 runs comprising 4 'Fours' and 1 'Six' from 23 balls.

The first inning was surely an entertaining show as the man in form Virat Kohli once again returned with double energy and pulled the match beautifully by turning the singles into doubles. Securing 90 in the previous match, Kohli this time didn't go for the maximums but supported AB de Villers well.

Speaking of the bowlers of the Purple unit, Prasidh Krishna, Andre Russell poured out well initially to the Men in Red with yorker and short balls, making tough for the batsmen to make fast runs. But failed to overall impress the fans. Fielders as well as bowlers appeared to be struggling this evening against the men from Team Virat.

As of now, both side have won four out of their six encounters and have 8 points in their kitty, but KKR right now placed at third position are a spot ahead of their opponents RCB on superior run rate.
