Ravi Shastri, Indian cricket team’s head coach, has been a flamboyant personality since the days he represented India. Considered as one of the iconic Indian cricketers, Shastri has always carried himself with a straight forward approach.

Apart from being a spectacular cricketer, he is also known for his punctuality. Had it been during his playing days or after becoming the manager of team India, being on time has been Shastri’s habit. Even, former Indian skipper Sourav Ganguly had to face Shastri’s wrath for being late on one occasion.

Shastri appeared in the latest episode of the chat show, Breakfast With Champions, hosted by Gaurav Kapoor. During the show, he recalled an incident when he joined team India as a Manager for the very first time in 2007. India were on a tour of Bangladesh and the first game was to be played in Chittagong.

While the team were heading for the practice session, Shastri arrived at the departure point and asked the bus driver to leave. However, a few people present over there said that Dada [Sourav Ganguly] hadn’t arrived yet.

Reacting to it, Shastri said, “Dada ayega gaadi mein. Chalo! (Dada will come by another vehicle. Let’s leave now).”

After that particular incident, every time the team left for practice, Ganguly was at least ten minutes before.

During the show, Shastri revealed many stories from his life on and off the field. At the same time, he also assured that once his coaching stint is over, he will back in the commentary box and entertain the audience in Hindi langauge.
