India beat Afghanistan by 6 wickets in the second T20I of the three-match series at the Holkar Stadium in Indore on Sunday (January 14). With India finishing the match with 26 balls to spare, there was a bit early finish. Post the match, some members of the Indian cricket fraternity visited the Shree Mahakaleshwar Temple in Ujjain early the following morning. Tilak Varma, Washington Sundar, Jitesh Sharma, and Ravi Bishnoi attended the 'Bhasma Aarti'.

It is pertinent to note that the temple is among one of the twelve Jyotirlingas and happens to be a significant pilgrimage site for the Hindus. Lord Shiva is worshipped here in this temple as Mahakal and the 'Bhasma Aarti' is an important ritual happening every morning, one that symbolises the temporary nature of life and how it happens to be a continuous cycle of creation and destruction.

A video of the the Indian cricket stars attending the Aarti was shared by news agency ANI.

IND vs AFG T20I Series Heads To Bengaluru

With India's win over Afghanistan in the second T20I in Indore, the action now heads to Bengaluru for the third and the final T20I. India have already clinched the bilateral series by winning the first two matches but have a lot of boxes still to tick in what will also be their final T20I ahead of the T20 World Cup 2024 in June. Captain Rohit Sharma is yet to score a run in this series after having got out for ducks in each of the first two T20Is and it would be interesting to see his approach in the Bengaluru fixture. Meanwhile, Kuldeep Yadav and Sanju Samson haven't played a game and could be roped in with the series already in the bag.
