On what was turning out to be a day for bowlers with 11 wickets going down, the right-handed batsman Rahul Tripathi's 71-ball 73 on Day 2 of the Ranji Trophy clash between Maharashtra and Vidarbha was undoubtedly the stand-out performance. Right from starting his knock on day 2 with 36 runs, Tripahti’s half-century helped his team Maharashtra to finish with close to 350.


However, this was not the end of dominance by Maharashtra, as their bowlers bowled the visitors out for just 120 runs, who were later asked to follow on. Vidarbha trail by 177 runs with 10 wickets remaining.


In Railways vs Mumbai match, for Mumbai, the left-handed batsman Shivam Dubey ensured that his squad had at least one centurion on day two, the 25-year-old hit 114 of 139 deliveries, with 13 fours and four sixes to score his maiden first-class ton.
