In the Mumbai vs Karnataka U-19 Cooch Behar Trophy final match which commenced on January 12 (Friday), Samit Dravid, son of cricketing legend Rahul Dravid, showcased his bowling skills by rolling his arms over. The junior Dravid bowled medium pace during the game. In his initial spell, he bowled ten overs, conceding 41 runs. Later, he returned to bowling to claim two wickets, finishing with impressive figures. The footage of Samit Dravid delivering a medium-fast ball has gained widespread attention on social media, quickly becoming viral.


Following Karnataka's decision to field after winning the toss against Mumbai, Samit Dravid showcased his skills with the ball as he bowled a spell of 19 overs. During this spell, he secured two crucial wickets, dismissing the dangerous Ayush Vartak for 73 runs and rattling Prateek Yadav's stumps for 30 runs. In his spell of 19 overs, Samit Dravid also bowled two maiden overs while conceding a total of 60 runs. Mumbai were eventually bowled out for 380 runs.

Samit's consistent performances have garnered attention, and he recently demonstrated his batting prowess by scoring 98 runs against Jammu and Kashmir. Batting at No. 5 for Karnataka, he compiled 98 runs off 159 balls, including 13 fours and one six. Throughout the current season, Samit has accumulated 340 runs in seven matches with an impressive average of 37.78. He has registered three half-centuries. Additionally, the 18-year-old has claimed three wickets in the competition.


Speaking on JioCinema, Rahul Dravid recently disclosed that he refrains from coaching his son, Samit. He expressed the challenges of balancing the roles of a parent and a coach, stating that becoming both is a difficult task. Dravid stated, "Samit ko coaching karne ki koshish hi nahi karta hu. Parent aur coach dono Banna mushkil hai. Parent rehne ki koshish kar rha hu, usme bhi pata nahi mai kya kar rha hu (I do not even try to coach Samit. Being a parent and coach both are tough. I try to stay as a parent. I don't know what I am doing in that also)."
