Pakistan captain Babar Azam has often been criticised for his strike rate. The same did not seem to leave him even when he was playing for the Peshawar Zalmi in the ongoing season of the Pakistan Super League. However, this time around Babar was in no mood to hear the bashing from the media personnel and replied how the situation of the game demanded the way he played.
In a video which has now gone viral on social media, Babar can be seen giving savage response at the press conference following his team's loss by six wickets against Islamabad United. When asked about his dipping rate of scoring runs, he asked if he should score at a rate of 300.
Here is the video:
Notably, the skipper of the Peshawar Zalmi is the third leading run-scorer in the tournament with as many as 171 runs from four innings at an average of 57.00. Even his overall strike rate hasn't been low by any stretch of the imagination, as he has been accumulating runs at a rate of 131.54 with the help of 18 fours and two sixes.
The Peshawar Zalmi are currently placed fourth on the table with the help of two wins and two defeats. While their campaign started off with a thrilling 2-run win over Karachi Kings, they then succumbed to a 56-run defeat against Multan Sultans. They came back to win their contest against the Quetta Gladiators by 4 wickets but lost their latest fixture against Islamabad United.
Meanwhile, it is the Multan Sultans who are sitting at the top of the points table as of now. The Mohammad Rizwan-led side started off with a narrow-defeat but have found a way to come out on top on every other of their four matches.
