In a refreshing news for Team India, 19-year-old opening batsman Prithvi Shaw has recovered from his ankle injury and is all set to get back on the cricket field. Prithvi had twisted his ankle in a warm-up match against Cricket Australia XI at Adelaide ahead of the four-match series in Australia that eventually ruled him out of the tour.

Shaw took to twitter to confirm the news of his return. But just like his impossible square cuts off deliveries just outside the off stump, his tweet too wasn’t simple. Taking a cue from a rap in Ranvir Singh’s upcoming movie ‘Gully Boy’ Prithvi said ‘Aapana time aayeaga.’

A fortnight ago, the 19-year-old attacking batsman had sounded confident of regaining his full fitness before IPL 2019. “I will be fit before the Indian Premier League and I am trying hard to reach full fitness. I am working on my ankle as well as on my upper body,” Shaw was quoted as saying by India TV.

He is a part of the Delhi Capitals (previously Delhi Daredevils) squad for IPL 2019.

The ankle injury first ruled Shaw out of the first two Test matches in Australia. The right-hander was all set to return for the latter half of the series but unfortunately, his recovery did not go according to plan and he was eventually ruled out of the entire series. Shaw’s injury opened the doors for Karnataka batsman Mayank Agarwal who scored two half-centuries in Australia to cement his place in the side.

Shaw had a record-breaking start to his Test career as he aggregated 237 runs in three innings at an average of 118.50 against the West Indies.
