Team India heaved a sigh of relief when MRI scans of Prithvi Shaw showed no major damage on his elbow and just a slight inflammation. As a precautionary measure, Prithvi was relieved from the India A squad and the Team India opener flew back home Thursday morning. Shaw was replaced by Kedar Jadhav, who is making a comeback after a hamstring injury sustained during the Asia Cup.

Prithvi is presently under medication and has been advised rest for a few days. There is, however, no update on the shoulder injury which has been troubling Prithvi for some time now. However, according to sources, Prithvi is expected to fit in time to play Mumbai's first Ranji Trophy encounter on November 3.

Shaw was hit by a Deepak Chahar delivery on his elbow just moments after he appeared to struggle with his backlift. He was having pain in his right shoulder. Shaw was first hit during the Hyderabad Test against West Indie and was again in distress during the Vijay Hazare Trophy, prompting the BCCI to answer alarm bells.
