Prabath Jayasuriya Test Records: Sri Lanka are on the verge of clean-sweeping New Zealand as they are well-positioned to register a big win in the ongoing SL vs NZ 2nd Test at Galle. After bowling out New Zealand for 88 in the second innings and securing a massive 514-run lead, Sri Lanka sent half of New Zealand’s side packing in the follow-on innings as well, on the same day. And at the centre of Sri Lanka’s brilliance stands their left-arm spinner Prabath Jayasuriya, who himself is nearing a prestigious milestone.

Jayasuriya has taken 15 of New Zealand’s 30 wickets over the course of their last three innings on this tour to Sri Lanka, with the fourth innings still at play. With another wicket in the 4th innings, Jayasuriya is on the brink of cricket history, now just five wickets away from matching the record for the fastest to 100 Test wickets, set by England’s George Lohmann 128 years ago in 1896. However, to achieve this feat, he must take all of New Zealand's remaining wickets as they are already half-down in the Galle Test.

Currently, Jayasuriya has 95 Test wickets at an average of 28.35.
