New Delhi: Hardik Pandya fired quick 100 runs as India reached 487/9 at the end of first session on day 2 against Sri Lanka at Pallekele on Sunday.



India started the day two with 329 runs on the board and with loss of 6 wickets, Hardik Pandya and Wriddhiman Saha just managed 10 runs together, before the wicket-keeper batsman made his way back to pavilion. 



Kuldeep joined Pandya in the middle and provided much needed stand as the duo went on stitch 62 runs together for the 8th wicket. After Kuldeep’s departure, the 23-year-old shifted gears as he fired the Lankan bowling attack in corner.



The right-arm batsman smashed Malinda Pushpakumara for 26 runs in 6 balls to register highest figure by an Indian in Test cricket. Pandya smashed 8 fours and 7 sixes in the process and remained unbeaten on 108 in just 93 balls.
