Pakistan are set to face New Zealand in the 1st T20I on Sunday, as the Asian giants will commence the New Zealand Tour with a 'fresh-looking squad'. The likes of Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan have been handed rest for the T20I's, and in the latter's absence, all-rounder Salman Ali Agha will be leading the side.

Speaking ahead of the fixture, the right-handed batsman stated that the young players in the squad stand a good chance 'to showcase their talent', and that, they will 'produce better results in New Zealand'.


"We have some young players in the side, and it is an opportunity for them to showcase their talent at the international level after performing well in domestic cricket. The team's preparations are going well, and we will try to produce better results in New Zealand," said Salman Ali Agha, as reported by PCB.


Pakistan's fresh-looking squad features three debutants, as Abdul Samad, Hasan Nawaz, and Mohammad Ali are handed maiden national call-ups.


Pakistan and New Zealand have faced each other 44 times in the T20I's, where the former has the upper hand with 23 wins, ad the Blackcaps have 19 wins to their name.


Veteran all-rounder Shadab Khan makes his much-awaited return to the squad, and can potentially feature in Playing XI on Sunday.
