Fast bowling sensation Mohammad Amir was once again left out by the selectors from the 15-member squad set to take on Australia during the three-match T-20 series, scheduled to start next week.

The 26-year-old was not even picked in the Test squad for the ongoing series against Australia due to his weak performance in the three Asia Cup matches in the United Arab Emirates, last month. Amir went wickless in all the three matches during the Asia Cup.

Left-arm pacer Waqas Maqsood, has been used as replacement for Amir in the squad following a good performance against New Zealand, which was played in UAE too. Surprisingly, Maqsood is yet to play for the national senior team.

"Maqsood has been drafted in the T20 squad after his recent performances in domestic cricket and playing for Pakistan's 'A' team against New Zealand's 'A' team," said chief selector Inzamam-ul-Haq.

All-rounder Imad Wasim is also set to make a comeback with the team after his form and fitness was monitored by the selection committee during a string of domestic matches, added Inzamam.
