Indian cricket team star all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja, who fought valiantly with the bat in the semi-final game, on Friday took to social media to reminisce about his squad's heartbreaking 18-run loss to Kiwis.

In his recent post on Instagram, Ravindra Jadeja shared a picture of himself and wrote, "We try our best but still fall short sometimes. One of the saddest days!". Jadeja's heroic knock (77 runs from 59 balls) wasn't enough to help India beat New Zealand in the nail-biting thriller.

In the game, star paceman Trent Boult got Jadeja caught out by skipper Williamson. The big turning point in the match came when Martin Guptill hit the stumps with a brilliant direct hit to send veteran MS Dhoni back to the pavilion as team India lost their biggest match-winner in the chase.

For New Zealand, Ross Taylor (74 runs off 90 balls) and Kane Williamson (67 off 95 balls) were the star performers for their team as they helped the Kiwis reach 239, batting first.
