The 2023 edition of ICC Men's ODI World Cup 2023 will kickstart from October 3 with a match between defending champions England and New Zealand -- a recap of 2019 World Cup final -- on October 5 in Ahmedabad's Narendra Modi Stadium. The final i.e. the title match will be held on November 19 in Ahmedabad. India's ODI World Cup 2023 campaign will begin on October 8 with a match against Pat Cummins led Australia in Chennai. This time only India will host the World Cup. This is the first time in the history of cricket that India is going to host the World Cup alone, without any co-hosts. Before this, India had jointly hosted the ODI Cricket World Cup in 1987, 1996 and 2011.
The 2023 ICC Men's ODI World Cup is a golden chance for host India to become world champion again after 12 years. Before this, India had won the World Cup in 1983 (captaincy of Kapil Dev) and 2011 (captaincy of Mahendra Singh Dhoni).
