ODI World Cup Super Six Scenarios: Qualification Scenarios For Each Team After West Indies' Shock Exit

Even if Sri Lanka loses against Zimbabwe on July 2, they will still have a chance to qualify for the main event. However, for that to happen, Sri Lanka will have to defeat the West Indies in its last Super Six match on July 7. Zimbabwe have six points from three matches and have won all their matches like Sri Lanka. The team's net run rate (0.752) is not very good and despite a win against Sri Lanka, Zimbabwe's road to making it to the World Cup will not be easy.

A defeat against Scotland in their last match could rule Zimbabwe out of the tournament. Scotland has four points from three matches and their win over West Indies has increased their chances of qualifying for ODI World Cup. If Scotland wins both its remaining games and Sri Lanka beats Zimbabwe, Scotland will qualify for the marquee event.

Zimbabwe, Scotland and Sri Lanka can have eight points each if Zimbabwe beats Scotland and if this happens then the net run rate will matter a lot. Scotland's net run rate is 0.188 and they will have to win at any cost in their next match against Zimbabwe on Tuesday.

Netherlands have two points from three matches and will have to register big wins in their remaining two matches against Oman and Scotland to make it to the World Cup. Netherlands would like Sri Lanka to qualify, so that the second place match will be between them, Zimbabwe and Scotland. Netherlands has the lowest net run rate (minus 0.560) among the four teams.
