New Zealand’s explosive batter Rachin Ravindra has been in sublime form as he notched up his second hundred in the ongoing World Cup 2023 against Australia in Dharamsala on Saturday. On the back of this knock, Rachin also joined Glenn Turner, Martin Guptill, and Kane Williamson as the fourth New Zealand batsman to collect two hundreds in a World Cup. The left-hand batter made a brilliant debut in the mega event in the game against England in Ahmedabad where he scored a century, contributing to New Zealand's nine-wicket win. He was also handed over the Player of the Match award after he ended up scoring 123 runs and also took a wicket.
Just after scoring a hundred, he went on to hit a fifty against the Netherlands at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. He also smashed a fifty in a crucial game against India in Dharamshala. Talking about today’s clash between Australia and New Zealand, the Men in Yellow team outplayed New Zealand by five runs in a nail-biting thriller in Dharamshala on Saturday. Rachin Ravindra played a terrific innings for the Black Caps with a brilliant century. He ended up smashing 116 runs for 89 balls but could not sail his team's boat in a huge 389-run chase against Australia. New Zealand ended up scoring 383/9 in 50 overs and lost the game by five runs.
For Australia, it was David Warner and Travis Head who led a brutal attack, helping their team to post a huge 388 on the board after being asked to bat first by New Zealand. A late cameo by Glenn Maxwell ensured Australia’s huge total as he smashed 41 runs in just 24 balls. Inglish also played a useful hand of 38(28), while Cummins hammered 37 in just 14 balls.
