ODI World Cup 2023 list of injured players: The biggest cricketing event of the year, ICC Men's ODI World Cup 2023, will begin on October 5 at Ahmedabad's iconic Narendra Modi Stadium. The tournament opener will be played between 2019 World Cup winner England and runner-up New Zealand. A total of 48 ODI World Cup matches will be played across 10 Indian cities over the course of 46 days. Steve Smith has been on the road to recovery for the last one month after he injured his wrist and is expected to make Australia comeback with IND vs AUS first match in ODI World Cup 2023 on October 8.


In a huge blow to New Zealand's chances of winning the ODI World Cup trophy this year, their key pacer Tim Southee fractured his right thumb while fielding against England in an ODI match.
