A new report has shown that Virat Kohli is the second-highest paid captain in international cricket. England's Joe Root, who is England's Test captain is the one who has the highest salary in international cricket. However, Virat Kohli is way ahead of any cricketers in terms of net worth as he was the only cricketer in Forbes 2020s, 100 highest-paid athletes. 


But this new list of salary of cricketers has been released by Wion. Check out who has made the list:


#10 Kusal Perera: The Sri Lakan gets paid the least among all the other captains in world cricket right now. He is captain of SL's limited-overs team. His annual salary is reported to be 25 Lakh rupees. 



#9 Dimuth Karunaratne: Sri Lanka's Test captain takes the ninth spot in the list as he earns 51 Lakh rupees. 



#8 Babar Azam: Pakistan's Test and ODI captain Babar Azam takes the eighth spot in the list of players with the highest salary. His salary is 62.4 Lakh rupees. He recently surpassed Virat Kohli and became the no. 1 batsman in ICC rankings. 



#7 Kraigg Brathwaite: He takes 7th spot with an annual salary of rupees 1.3 crores. Brathwaite is WI's captain in Test cricket. 



#6 Kane Williamson, Eoin Morgan, Keiron Pollard: The three top cricketers from New Zealand, England, and West Indies, respectively take the sixth spot with an annual salary of 1.7 crore rupees. 



#5 Temba Bavuma: South Africa's ODI and T20 captain takes the 5th spot with an annual salary of 2.5 crore rupees. 



#4 Dean Elgar: SA's ODI captain is followed by SA's Test captain. He earns rupees 3.2 crores annually. 



#3 Aaron Finch & Tim Paine: Australia's ODI and Test captain earns the same amount of money. Both of them earn rupees 4.8 crores annually. 



#2 Virat Kohli: India's captain in all formats takes a surprising second berth in terms of their annual salary. He earns 7 crore rupees annually. 



#1 Joe Root: England's captain is the world's highest salaried cricket captain who earns rupees 8.9 crores annually.
