Former Aussie legendary batsman Ricky Ponting, who is rated as one of the best batsmen of all time, got a bit nostalgic as he took to Twitter to post a picture of his 'favourite bat'; he played with for the most time in his remarkable career.

"Five international hundreds with this baby, four of them against South Africa. The 120 and 143* were made in my 100th Test at the SCG.

"And the 164 was made in the famous 434 v 438 ODI at the Wanderers. Used it for as long as I could and as you can see it's pretty worn out," Ponting said in a tweet.

In his illustrious career, Ponting scored 27, 483 runs across formats for Australia. The veteran played 168 Tests, 375 ODIs and 17 T20Is for his national squad. The 45-year-old is currently the head coach of IPL franchise Delhi Capitals.

Recently, team India senior speedster Ishant Sharma, who plays for Delhi Capitals in the cash-rich IPL, praised Ponting and picked him as 'the best coach ever'.

"He's the best coach I've ever met. I was very nervous when I was returning to the IPL last season. I was almost feeling like a debutant walking into the camp the first day but he gave me a lot of confidence since the first day I arrived at the Delhi Capitals camp." Ishant Sharma went on to add and said, "You're a senior player and you should help the youngsters. Don't worry about anything you're my first choice".
