Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) president Amol Kale died due to cardiac arrest on Monday (June 10). Kale was in attendance at the India vs Pakistan (IND vs PAK) ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024 fixture at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York. Hours after the thriller which India won by 6 runs, Kale breathed his last at 47 due to heart attack.
The news of Kale's death has sent shockwaves across the cricket community in India. Quite a few from the media and the cricketing community are in disbelief at Kale's passing away. Several have taken to social media to share their condolence. Notably, Kale was watching the IND vs PAK match along with Mumbai Cricket Board Secretary Ajinkya Naik along with another office bearer of the board on Sunday (June 9).
Kale, the 47-year-old, had become the MCA president in 2022. In the State cricket board elections, Kale had beaten Sandeep Patil to become the president. MCA is one of the most powerful cricket associations of India and Kale had been at its helm since 2022.
Amol Kale Played A Part In Doubling Match Fee Of Senior Domestic Cricketers In 2024-25 Season
Notably, Kale, an aide of Maharashtra's Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, was a businessman who had been in Mumbai for over a decade.
He had a key role to play in announcing the decision to double the match fees of the senior cricketers in Mumbai for the forthcoming 2024-25 season after the Indian cricket board's decision to double the match fees of domestic players.

Kale was an advocate of red-ball cricket and with him as the president MCA announced a prize money of Rs 5 crore to the Ranji Trophy-winning season from the 2023-24 season.
