MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli are two of the biggest names in not just Indian cricket but in the realm of sports all over the world. Both are also regarded as one of the all-time greats in the sport. They also share a unique friendly relationship, a bond that has only evolved over the years. Both cricketers have praised each other publicly and their respect for one another has been clear both on and off the field. In a video that has been making rounds on the internet, Dhoni made an interesting remark about his equation with the former Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) captain.

Dhoni, the former Chennai Super Kings (CSK) captain was asked about his relationship with Kohli in the viral video. Dhoni, responding candidly, noted the age difference between them but affirmed his belief that Virat is like a younger brother or a colleague and is one of the top players in world cricket.

"We have been playing since 2008/09, there's still an age gap. So I don't know whether I would say like I am an older brother or colleague or whatever name you give it. But at the end of the day, we have been colleagues, you know, who played for India for a very long time. He has been amongst the best when it comes to world cricket," Dhoni said at what seems like a recent event in the viral video.

MS Dhoni's Influence On Virat Kohli's Cricketign Career

Virat Kohli made his international debut back in 2008 and quickly rose through the ranks under MS Dhoni's captaincy, eventually establishing himself as one of the world's top cricketers. He was also part of the Indian squad that won the 2011 ODI World Cup and the 2013 Champions Trophy under Dhoni's captaincy.

Dhoni initially handed over the Test captaincy to Kohli during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in 2014 and Kohli later assumed the role of captain across all formats in 2017.

Despite stepping down from captaincy and retiring, Dhoni continued to offer guidance to Kohli. Kohli has often described Dhoni as a mentor and a reliable source of advice throughout his career.
