MS Dhoni In IPL 2025: Mahendra Singh Dhoni is reportedly set to be retained by Chennai Super Kings for the upcoming Indian Premier League 2025 season as an 'uncapped' player (due to the latest IPL Retention Policy of BCCI).
As reported by Cricbuzz, CSK's CEO Kasi Viswanathan confirmed the decision on Saturday in an exclusive interview.
"When he is ready, what else we want. We are happy," said Kasi Viswanathan.

The decision, if believed to be true, will be a big relief for all the 'Thala' fans over the world, as they wish to see their beloved 'Mahi' one more time in the iconic yellow jersey of CSK... at the Chepauk.

Also, few days ago, MS Dhoni told Times Of India of his aspirations and desire to play and enjoy his twilight years in cricket, and that, 'fitness' will play a major role in this.
"I just want to enjoy whatever last few years of cricket I can play. When you play cricket like a professional sport, it becomes difficult to enjoy it just like a game. That's what I want to do. It's not easy," said the five-time IPL winner at an event.

As reported by Cricbuzz, the CSK management are awaiting for a confirmation from MS Dhoni by October 28. They also reported that as MS Dhoni will be retained under the 'uncapped' category, therefore his price will be INR 4 crore, and the 1st choice retention will be Ravindra Jadeja.
"It's a given that Ravindra Jadeja will be the No. 1 retention, followed by Ruturaj Gaikwad. Matheesha Pathirana, essentially a CSK product, is believed to have agreed to be the No. 3 retention, with his manager finalising the deal in Chennai last week. Among Shivam Dube, Devon Conway, and uncapped player Sameer Rizvi, two should be retained," reported Cricbuzz.
