Even though India failed to end their world title drought after India losing to Australia in the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup 2023 final, it was a tournament to remember for Mohammed Shami. And now days after India's loss, Shami has once again grabbed headlines but this time around because of his off the field action. The right-arm pacer took to social media to share a video in which he can be seen helping a person out of his car moments after the car had met an accident. Soon after Shami's rescue act, the car quickly went down the hill which suggests things could have been much worse for the unknown individual if Shami had not been there on time and volunteered to help.

"He's so lucky god gave him 2nd life. His car fall down from the hill road near Nanital just in front of my car. We took him out very safely," Shami captioned the video.

Take a look at the clip here:

"I had swelling in my knee before the 2015 (World Cup) tournament. Someone else could have said no but I have the ability to bear pain and I was told two options—either directly go for surgery or play the tournament and then go for the surgery. While the team would return to the hotel after every match, I would go to the hospital to take the injection. When you play for the country, you forget everything," Shami said in an exclusive interview to Puma.

He then revealed that the doctors reckoned he would not be able to bowl after he finally underwent a surgery. However, as it has turned out not only has Shami been able to deliver the goods with the ball but has even managed to surpass some of the bowling greats to emerge as the country's leading wicket taker in World Cups.
