A controversial incident took place during the Eliminator between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Delhi Capitals at the Dr YS Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam on Wednesday.

SRH star hitter Deepak Hooda attempted to steal a quick single in the last over of Hyderabad innings. Responding to which, Wicket-keeper Pant threw the ball at the bowler’s end but what created the drama was when DC’s Keemo Paul collided with Hooda in the middle of the pitch.

There was no need to go upstairs for a review as the ball had clearly hit the stumps but Ravi asked Delhi captain Iyer if he wanted to withdraw the appeal. Iyer first gave Hooda an opportunity to bat on but was convinced otherwise by Pant that there could be no question of recalling the batsman.

Chasing a target of 163, Delhi Capitals star batsman Rishab Pant resurrected the innings from a ore-carious 111 for 5 to hit five sixes during his 21-ball 49 as he guided Delhi Capitals to a two-wicket victory in the IPL Eliminator against Sunrisers Hyderabad.
