Lucknow Super Giants have dealt a major blow by losing one of the finest bowlers around the globe right now, but have named a worthy replacement in the form of young sensation from West Indies, Shamar Joseph. The Caribbean right-arm fast bowler produced one of the finest bowling spells in the history of Test cricket in his debut series in Australia, coming in the second innings of the second Test match at Gabba, where West Indies scripted one of the greatest comeback victories of all time.
The Indian Premier League then released a statement confirming the latest series of changes taken place on Saturday.
“Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) named Shamar Joseph as a replacement for pacer Mark Wood for the upcoming edition of the TATA Indian Premier League 2024. Joseph will join LSG for ₹3 Crore. The speedster was recently at the forefront during West Indies’ Test win at the Gabba. He picked 7 wickets in the 2nd innings to script a historic win in Australia for West Indies. This will be Joseph's first stint in the IPL," read the statement.
