Indian cricket team skipper Virat Kohli, along with his brother, was seen standing in queue outside a booth in Gurugram to exercise his franchise. Kohli also took to Twitter to urge the countrymen to use their power and vote in the ongoing elections.
"Voting is your right and responsibility towards nation building. Go vote," he wrote on Twitter.
BJP Candidate from East Delhi Gautam Gambhir also cast his vote at a polling booth in Old Rajinder Nagar. He is up against AAP's Atishi and Congress's Arvinder Singh Lovely.
Legendary Cricketer Kapil Dev, along with wife Romi and daughter Amiya arrived to cast vote at a polling booth in DPS Mathura Road.
Recently, AAP's East Delhi candidate Atishi broke down while reading a pamphlet containing “obscene and scurrilous” remarks against her, that she alleged has been distributed in the constituency by her BJP rival Gautam Gambhir, a charge vigorously denied by the cricketer-turned-politician.
Speaking to ABP News, the BJP leader said, "Because of individuals like Kejriwal people do not want to enter politics. From day 1 I told our workers that we will not resort to negative politics. You can have a look at my 17 days of canvassing. We can't stoop to the levels AAP has fallen to. I have said in the past that I am not here to for power but to serve the people. If allegations are proved against me I will make Kejriwal prepare my resignation letter which I will sign openly in public.”
