The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) recently named India's squad for the ICC World Test Championship final against Australia. However, the important thing to note is that the position of the chairman of the selectors is still vacant. Notably, Chetan Sharma had rendered his resignation and the BCCI did appoint Shiv Sunder Das as the interim chairman of the selection committee but no one has replaced the ex-India pacer in the permanent role.

For the unversed, Chetan Sharma was at the centre of a controversy after a sting operation conducted by a private news channel in which he had made some shocking revelations. The 57-year-old had disclosed some of the inside secrets, his chat with head coach Rahul Dravid and shed light over the sacking of Virat Kohli as the ODI captain after he had himself stepped down as the skipper in T20Is.

In the aftermath of the sting operation, Chetan Sharma resigned in February 2023 with reports saying that captain Rohit Sharma and coach Dravid had lost faith in him.  And now the ex-BCCI Selection Committee Chairman and the first man to take a hat-trick in a Cricket World Cup has put out an emotional tweet in which he has said that life has been tough for him.

"Life has been very tough so far. No hope from your near & dear. Hope Mata Rani bless me.....," he tweeted.

Here is his tweet:

Several of his fans and netizens wishes him well out of concern. "All will be good Chetan bhai, you have handled enough challenges in life.. Stay Strong," wrote one user. "Sir keep faith in God. Everything will be fine. Tough times will also go," wrote another. "This too shall pass," a third user commented.
