Indian wicketkeeper-batsman KL Rahul while engaging in a live interative session with his fans on Twitter picked South African batting wizard and his former Royal Challengers Bangalore teammate, AB de Villiers, as his favourite all-time batsman.

Rahul responded to a wide range of questions posed by his fans on Sunday evening, ranging from his favourite career moments to his most memorable series. And among those questions, a fan asked the Indian cricketer his "all-time favourite batsman #askkl ?".  "I think it is got to be @ABdeVilliers17," Rahul wrote replying to the fan on his all-time favourite batsman query.

Rahul who joined the RCB squad in 2013, made his debut for the franchise as a wicket-keeper batsman. He did not fare too well with the willow, scoring only 20 runs in his first five games for the side and was roped in by Sunrisers Hyderabad in 2014. He had a second stint with  RCB in 2016 and spent one season with the Virat Kohli-led side where he established himself as a promising talent.

The stylish Indian right-handed wicket-keeper batsman shared the dressing room with De Villiers during his time with Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Rahul got a chance to observe De Villiers closely during his RCB days and he has expressed his admiration for the South African batsman on many occasions.

He was snapped up by Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) ahead of the 2018 season and since then has become one of the most consistent run-getters for his team in the IPL.

De Villiers has over 20,000 runs to his name across formats in international cricket and he has been one of the key members in the RCB batting line-up, over the years.
