This achievement marks the first instance of Williamson scoring centuries in both innings of a Test, elevating his tally to an impressive 31 tons in the longest format of the game. However, the calm-as-ever Kiwi batter is making rounds on social media for an incident totally unrelated to his on-field performance and character.

Fans were given a glimpse of a different side of the former New Zealand skipper on Tuesday. In a now-viral video, Kane Williamson, who was warming up before the commencement of Day 3 in the first Test between New Zealand and South Africa, was captured displaying a middle finger to one of his teammates.

A clip shared by an X (formerly Twitter) user captured several Kiwi players engaged in discussion, while Kane Williamson, who was doing stretching exercises in the background, was unexpectedly hit with a ball. Unaware of the cameras, the former Kiwi skipper jokingly displayed a middle finger to one of his teammates.

New Zealand’s Dominance Over The Tourists

Coming to the ongoing NZ vs SA first Test of the two-match Test series, Kane Williamson secured his second century of the match on day 3, propelling the hosts to a commanding lead of 528 runs. The 33-year-old batsman scored 109 as New Zealand concluded the day at 179-4 in their second innings.

In the first innings of the Test, South Africa elected to field first against New Zealand. The Kiwis posted an imposing total of 511 runs, propelled by Rachin Ravindra's remarkable innings of 240 runs and Kane Williamson's contribution of 118 runs. In response, the Proteas faltered, managing only 162 runs before losing all their wickets.

Although New Zealand had the opportunity to enforce the follow-on, they opted to bat once more. This decision allowed Kane Williamson to secure his 31st Test century, a historic feat as it marked the first instance of him achieving a century in both innings of the same match.
