India's star pacer Jasprit Bumrah returned to India from Sri Lanka all of a sudden, citing personal reasons. The 29-year-old initially did not reveal the reason behind his sudden departure. But then On Monday, Bumrah took to his social media handle to announce an exciting news to his fans. With the help of the post, Bumrah declared that he and his wife Sanjana Ganesan have been blessed with a baby boy.

He posted a heartwarming picture of his child with the caption, "Our little family has grown, and our hearts are fuller than we could ever imagine! This morning, we welcomed our little boy, Angad Jasprit Bumrah, into the world. We are over the moon and can’t wait for everything this new chapter of our lives brings with it, Jasprit and Sanjana". In the post, they also disclosed the name of their child as Angad. Bumrah and Ganesan got married in Goa back in March 2021.

Bumrah was a part of the Indian team that locked horns with Pakistan on Saturday. However, he had a short stint on the field as he played only 14 balls and made  16 runs. He could not get a chance to bowl as rain played spoilsport in Kandy. Eventually, the match was called off, and both teams shared a point each. Bumrah also marked his return to ODI cricket after recovering from a back stress fracture.

Bumrah will be missing out on the game against Nepal as India play them on Monday. Since Bumrah is not there, veteran speedster Shami is expected to replace Bumrah in India's playing XI. Bumrah is likely to join the team ahead of India's Super Four game on Sunday. Notably, India will have to secure a win against Nepal to make it to the next round but rain is likely to play spoilsport again.
