Jasprit Bumrah, one of the world’s best bowlers in all three formats of cricket, has made a comeback to the cricket foray after a break as he was included in the squad for the upcoming India vs Bangladesh Test series. Interestingly, a video of Bumrah has gone viral on the internet, in which the Mumbai Indians’ bowler is seen objecting after being called a right-arm medium pacer instead of right-arm fast bowler.
Bumrah, who debuted for India in January 2016, has been out of action since the T20 World Cup 2024 final, where he helped the Men in Blue achieve their long-standing feat, winning a World Cup, after 13 years. However, he is set to return to action in the first Test against Bangladesh, beginning September 19 in Chennai.

However, ahead of the IND vs BAN Test in Chennai, a video of Bumrah has gone viral. In the first part of the viral video, a young Bumrah expresses his frustration at being labelled a ‘right-arm medium’ pacer, asserting that he is, in fact, a ‘right-arm fast’ bowler. And in the second-half of the video, Bumrah is seen delivering deadly fast bowls to a batter in the nets.
"Yeh galat likha hai (it's written wrong). Right-arm medium nahi hai na, right-arm fast hai (it shouldn't be right-arm medium, it's right-arm fast)," Bumrah says in the video.
Originally aired during one of Bumrah’s early Indian Premier League (IPL) appearances with Mumbai Indians, the clip recently resurfaced and drew attention from fans and cricket enthusiasts.

Bumrah has represented India in 36 Tests, where he has taken 159 wickets, 89 ODIs with 149 wickets, and 70 T20Is, claiming 89 wickets.
