Jasprit Bumrah delivered an early blow to New Zealand on Day 5 of the India vs New Zealand Test in Bengaluru as he dismissed the Kiwi captain Tom Latham for a duck on the second ball of the day. With the target of only 107 for New Zealand, India needed somehting special early on Day 5 to lift the side up and instill doubt in New Zealand batters and Bumrah did exactly that by removing Latham.

Resuming the first over of the fourth innings, which had been interrupted by poor light the previous day,  Bumrah drew the first blood for India by getting Tom Latham out LBW. He bowled a length delivery on off-stump which came back in sharply. Latham played for the line of the ball but the ball beat his inside edge and hit him on his knee roll. Umpire Michael Gough raised his finger without any hesitation sending the Bengaluru crowd raucous.
