Ahead of the ICC T20 World Cup, the news agency PTI reported, the Indian speedster Jasprit Bumrah has been ruled out from the ICC tournament. He has suffered a back stress fracture.

Earlier,  just before the first T20 match against South Africa, Jasprit Bumrah complained of back pain and had been ruled out of the match at Thiruvananthapuram. Bumrah also missed the Asia Cup due to his back problem and he made a comeback in the last two T20Is against Australia.

“Jasprit Bumrah complained of back pain during India’s practice session on Tuesday. The BCCI Medical Team assessed him. He is ruled out of the first #INDvSA T20I," BCCI tweeted.  Bumrah also missed the Asia Cup due to his back problem and made a comeback in the last two T20Is against Australia.

A senior BCCI official told PTI, "Bumrah is not going to play the World T20 for sure. He has a serious back condition. It's a stress fracture and he could be out for a period of six months".

The 35-year-old said that Bumrah sustained a niggle in the practice session. Since Bumrah will not be taking part in the T20 World Cup,  the Indian team management is anticipated to pick a player between Mohammed Shami and Deepak Chahar to fill his void.

Bumrah is the second valuable player to be ruled out after Ravindra Jadeja who is also recuperating from knee surgery.
