In a major boost for his dreams of representing India, Ishan Kishan was named the captain of the Board President XI side that will play a three-day warm-up match against South Africa A in Belgaum from July 30.


The 14-member BP XI squad was named along with the Indian test squad for the England tour. Ishan Kishan, who was a part of the India A limited overs’ squad in England has been appointed as the leader of the squad that comprises of talented youngsters like Dhruv Shorey, Abhimanyu Easwaran, Shivam Mavi and Ishan Porel.


Ishan Kishan impressed many with his clean hitting, opening the batting for Mumbai Indians in IPL 2018, prompting the selectors to take a note of him. The BP XI match against South Africa A, therefore, will provide the Jharkhand keeper batsman with another opportunity to impress the selectors at a time when the keeper’s slot in the Indian side is up for grabs.
