Irfan Pathan engaged in a heated argument with his brother Yusuf Pathan during a World Championship of Legends (WCL) match after a horrible mix-up led to Irfan being run out.


India Champions played a crucial match against South Africa at Northampton's County Ground on Wednesday (July 10) in World Championship of Legends tournament. Batting first, South Africa Champions posted a mammoth total 210 runs. In response, India managed only 156 runs in 20 overs, losing the match by 54 runs.

During the 19th over of India's innings, Irfan Pathan played a shot that went airborne, but no fielder was able to catch it. Meanwhile, Yusuf Pathan and Irfan Pathan completed one run and attempted a second.


The call for the second run came from Irfan, but Yusuf hesitated multiple times before eventually deciding to run. This hesitation resulted in Irfan being run out, leading to him returning to the pavilion visibly angry at his elder brother Yusuf. A video of this incident went viral on social media.

Yusuf Pathan was greeted with hugs and a kiss on the forehead by his brother Irfan as he was returning to the pavilion after the match. Yusuf scored 54 runs, while Irfan also played a brilliant inning of 35 runs. Notably, Yusuf's innings ensured India qualified for the semifinals by securing the necessary 153 runs.


Both semifinals of the World Championship of Legends will take place on Friday, July 12. After the first semifinal between West Indies and Pakistan, India will lock horns with Australia in the second semifinal on the same day. Both matches will take place at Northampton's County Ground.
