With a strong fielding and bowling, Steve Smith's Rajasthan Royals restricted Mahendra Singh Dhoni led Chennai Super Kings at 125/5 in the 37th Match of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) at Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi on Monday evening.

The Men in Yellow after winning the toss and choosing to bat first, once again struggled with their top order. The strong pillars and openers of the CSK -- Faf du Plessis, Sam Curran, Shane Watson and Ambati Rayudu-- all four top batsmen failed to continue long on the field today.
Rajasthan got their first breakthrough when Jofra Archer dismissed overseas South African player Faf du Plessis 10(9), courtesy a stunning catch from Jos Buttler. From this point on, the Defensive Champions kept on loosing wickets one after the another. Kartik Tyagi provided RR with another breakthrough and removed Shane Watson 8(3).
Though Curran gave Chennai some momentum after the loss of Du Plessis and Watson, the Royals got their spirit moving with Shreyas Gopal removing Curran 22(25). The Chennai fans had their eyes stuck over Rayudu 13(19). The batsman in an attempt to whack Tewatia for a six, ended up returning to pavilion too soon.
With the absence of key players like Suresh Raina and Harbhajan Singh, and the top order being removed too early in the match, Chennai has set an easy score for the RR this evening in Abu Dhabi. It is yet to be seen in the second innings of the match if the Rajasthan will take on the CSK and move a step ahead towards qualifiers, or much like CSK, will fail to pull off due to issues in its batting unit.
