Indian batting legend Virat Kohli's three-year century drought in international cricket ended in September, 2022, during India vs Afghanistan Asia Cup match. This was not just Kohli's maiden ton in T20 Internationals but also his first international ton since November 2019, ending a three-year long century drought. Recently, Kohli opened up on how he felt after scoring the much-awaited ton, revealing that he laughed so hard upon attaining the milestone and questioned himself if it was the thing that he was cribbing about for the past two years.

"The ball before I got to the 100, is the time I felt, oh I am on 94, I could probably get this. And the next ball went for six. But the thing is that as soon as I go the 100, I laughed so hard. (I was like), 'main iske liye ro raha tha 2 saal se? (Was I crying for this for 2 years?)'," Kohli said in an episode of 'Let There Be Sport', which is streaming on Disney+ Hotstar.

“Like just for this 2 seconds, I let myself go through that? That moment happened, it ended. Next day, the sun goes up again. It wasn’t going to be forever. It’s not like I scored this 100, and I live this moment for the rest of my life. It was so funny, I laughed so hard. I was like, this is all that it,” Kohli further said.

Virat admitted that he got emotional when he talked with his wife Anushka Sharma about the century.

“Not in that moment, but when I spoke to Anushka… (there were tears),” said Kohli.

Virat Kohli has been in great batting form ever since he put an end to his three-year century drought, later scoring a century in both ODIs and Tests in 2023. The Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) legend has so far scored 420 runs in ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023.
