KL Rahul's Kings XI Punjab evidently struggled with its batting unit in the first innings. The early walk out of openers gave an easy chase to the Hyderabad i.e - 127 runs. But when put to bowl, the team completely turned the match upside down. The death overs literally turned strangling for the SRH with Chris Jordan marking his phenomenal hattrick tonight.
David Warner led Team Hyderabad after coming off a glorious 69-run win against Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) in the previous match (Game 22), tried its best to take on Kings XI Punjab when faced second time in the ongoing IPL edition. From a strong batting early on by unit to a spectacular show by bowlers this evening, the Hyderabad Unit took on every chance to make the match tough for the Punjab but couldn't register a win.
When first put to field, Rashid Khan, Sandeep Sharma and Jason Holder came out strong as usual.. Fall of two major wickets off consecutive balls--KL Rahul 27 (26) and Chris Gayle 20 (20) further boosted the confidence. Rashid Khan did what he's know for - strangled KXIP first by removing captain Rahul, then forcing Deepak Hooda to return to pavilion. He ended his spell for the day with 2/14.
Later when put to batting, star openers David Warner and Jonny Bairstow stitched a solid over 50 partnership with former himself contributing 35 from 20 balls. But the team started to fall apart soon after Captain walked out of the field at the hands of Ravi Bishnoi. Three wickets each for Arshdeep Singh and Chris Jordon but the later shined during death others by removing Rashid Khan, Holder and the big fish Manish Pandey one after the other.
