At the ripe old age of 39, Dhoni once again proved that he is as sharp as a gazelle behind the stumps as he pulled off a stunning catch off the bowling seamer Sam Curran to dismiss Delhi Capitals skipper Shreyas Iyer in the CSK vs DC match.
Dhoni effected a spectacular catch in the backend of Delhi Capitals innings as he dived full stretch to catch the ball which flew of Shreyas Iyer's bat after the DC batsman got a thick edge of Curran's back of a length delivery.
The wicket was important in the context of the game as Iyer and Pant had started putting their foot on the accelerator's peddle to step up the scoring rate for Delhi Capitals.

Dhoni also produced some of his vintage skills by effecting a razor sharp stumping to get rid of opener Prithvi Shaw in the twelfth over. Shaw got Delhi off to a solid start and top scored with a quick-fire 64 run knock to help his side post a challenging 175-run total.

MS Dhoni who is regarded as one of the most impactful cricketers in the history of the IPL has drawn some flak over him batting rather late at Number 7 in the opening two fixtures for his side.
Dhoni reversed that trend a bit as he came out to bat a position higher at No.6 but by the time he came to the crease CSK were way behind the required rate to chase down 175 against Delhi Capitals. The CSK skipper was dismissed by DC seamer Kagiso Rabada for 15.
Delhi Capitals went onto win the game against CSK by 44 runs and leapfrogged to the top of the points table.
